Universal Design for Learning and Digital Citizenship

There were three very resourceful technology tools that were covered in Module 3 of  ETEC 4810. Universal Design for Learning is one of those technology tools and it helps teachers think more intensely about their lessons and how they can improve them. I will use Universal Design for Learning in my future classroom one day to help me make assessments, set goals, and provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression. A challenge that should be considered when thinking about Universal Design for Learning is that it could be challenging to meet all of the guidelines that come with this technology tool. All in all I think this is a great technology tool that can influence many great lessons for teachers today.
Another technology tool that was discussed was Prezi. Prezi is a great way to get information across in a creative way. In this module, Prezi was used to show information about digital citizenship. I could use this technology tool in my future classroom as a way to make a lesson creative and get students involved in learning about the information. The students can also use Prezi to create presentations for the class when they are assigned. There is one challenge that comes with Prezi though. Occasionally, Prezi will not work on certain computers, especially if the computers are not updated. So, it may be challenging to use it or to present a Prezi presentation at times.
The final technology tool that I want to talk about from this module is Digital Citizenship. Digital Citizenship provides information about digital requirements and safety when using digital resources. I could use this technology tool in my future classroom to help students understand the safety and security of using digital resources. The one challenge that may come with this technology tool would be students taking the information the wrong way and not following the guidelines or reading all of the information.
These three technology tools are great ways to enhance lesson and classroom performance.

Social Bookmarking and Networking

Diigo, Pixton, and Twitter are three awesome technology tools that were discussed in module 2 of my ETEC 4810 course this week. Diigo is a wonderful bookmarking tool that helps you bookmark your favorite websites and keep them organized so that they are easy to find. I can use Diigo in my own classroom someday as a tool to help students get excited about learning! Students can look up topics online that we are talking about in the classroom and organize them by topic or content area. This could also be a great way to get the students involved in other study methods. Students can bookmark sites that may help them study a certain topic. One challenge that may arise would be students bookmarking things that are inappropriate.
Pixton is a great way to get students involved with their creative side. It allows people to create comics and publish them. Students could create a comic based on what the topic is for the lesson. Students could share the comics with the class. One problem that could come with using Pixton would be, students creating inappropriate things on the comics or students struggling with how to use it, depending on what grade level it is being used with.
Twitter could also be a great technology tool for the classroom. Students could search Twitter for topics about a certain lesson we are on and tweet those things. Students could also tweet their own opinions and topics about a lesson. There is a problem that could come with Twitter in the classroom though. Many people these days have a twitter and I would be afraid of students focusing on their friend's posts or on other things that do not pertain to the lesson.
All in all, I feel like these three technology tools are great ways to use technology in the classroom or even just for personal use.

Mobile Devices

In this module we have learned about different apps that can be used in the classroom by teachers and students. I found three of these apps ...
